Partial shares for the cost of a BUV are welcomed. Send-a-BUV is a great project for your family, group, church, or business.
BUV Delivery Service (BDS) with Business Mission Institute (BMI). $120,000 per program. Partner with IAT to establish an independent business and offer transport service in a developing country. The program is ideal for Christian entrepreneurs in Africa wanting to grow a business to share the gospel, deliver vital services, and create employment in their country. The development program includes a small fleet of BUVs (10 units), a simple low-cost maintenance shop housed in a shipping container, training in vehicle management/maintenance, and ongoing business support. The Business Mission Institute (BMI) works in conjunction with each BDS to teach “business as mission” courses, provide mentoring, counsel, and encouragement to establish Kingdom Businesses – all based on Biblically sound business principles. Partial shares are possible to help offer a BDS Program.
BUV Micro-Factory / Business Mission Institute. $150,000 per factory. Partner with IAT to establish an independent business to produce and sell BUVs in developing countries. The program is ideal for a Christian entrepreneur in Africa wanting to grow a business to share the gospel, offer a valuable product that improves community life, and creates employment in their country. The initial investment provides raw materials for 10 BUVs, tools & fixtures, parts, freight, on-site mentor for a month, and ongoing business support. IAT provides contacts, technical design, supply sourcing and business support to produce, assemble and distribute BUVs. The Business Mission Institute (BMI) works in conjunction with each micro-factory to teach “business as mission” courses, provide mentoring, counsel, and encouragement to establish Kingdom Businesses. Most BUV factories are independently owned, for-profit entities but some are coupled with vocational schools and run as a NGO. Request a business plan for your organization for a reasonable fee.
Business Model
Sales. IAT produces and sells BUVs in our micro-factory in Indianapolis, Indiana. In time, most orders will be sent to partner factories in the developing world. Partners can produce BUVs at 25% less cost, plus the customer saves shipping costs.
Licensing Fees. Licensing fees create an additional stream of revenue to help sustain IAT operations and improve design and production processes. The BDS program allocates 5% of delivery revenues to IAT while the average rate for the micro-factory program is about $100 per unit.
Donations / Grants. Thus far, the majority IAT funding has come from private donations and grants. Our target donor is a business person that is also passionate about missions. IAT encourages their staff to raise their personal support to cover their salaries. IAT is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
