Our partners are typically entrepreneurs in Africa or ministries that are looking to provide valuable transportation
to help share the gospel, deliver vital services, and help create employment. A simple cost effective transportation solution throughout Africa could not only change but save millions of lives...bridging the gap between vitals services and people in need.
Master Distributor/Producer (MDP): The MDP is a hub factory in a region or country. The MDP produces the BUV kit and may also assemble/sell the complete vehicle. The MDP imports key parts from IAT, fabricates and paints the front frame.
| Avg. Factory | High Volume Factory | ||
| Volume | 1 BUV per week | 1 BUV per day (300 units per year) | |
| Sales Revenue | $125,000 / year | $700,000 / year | |
| Investment | $40,000 | $100,000 not including facilities (5000 sq ft.) | |
| Payments to Ministry | $2500 / year | $15,000 / year to local ministries (a required donation) |
IAT’s Role: vehicle design, Technology Transfer Program (TTP), critical parts supply. The Technology Transfer Package provides local businessmen the ability to implement a BUV micro-factory with little interaction or dependence on IAT. The TTP package includes:
| Technical drawings | Jigs and fixtures | |
| Factory layout suggestions | Quality and inspection procedures | |
| Equipment requirements | Operator manuals | |
| Bill of Materials | Service and repair manuals | |
| Assembly instructions & standards | Marketing materials |
Product: The BUV represents rugged, low-cost motor-vehicle which lends itself toward small-scale production. The need for affordable transportation in rural Africa is well-documented. People need access to jobs, education, and markets. The BUV can also power water pumps, compressors, alternators, etc.
Business Model: The business model is based on a licensing arrangement. The MDP hubs may eventually choose to use dealers to expand their reach within their country.
Dealers: The dealers are typically small enterprises (a few employees) in rural villages. The dealers assemble, sell, and service the BUVs. Importantly, the dealers source the used truck rear-clips (the rear-half of the truck is used in the BUV). The dealers rely on nut-and-bolts assembly with handtools (very low investment) to assemble 1-2 units per month.
